"Tucked in the cobbled streets of the old town lies a gem of architecture. After paying the 40TL entrance fee, you immediately enter a small but intimate courtyard space. Entering the main church, one can see the domed ceiling, icon paintings and side rooms with various artifacts. Pictures are free to take. English descriptions are present for foreign visitors. There is also an informational brochure to pick up at the entrance with the same details that makes it more convenient. Super recommended even for a short visit!
Would be nice to have a gift shop selling icons or other religious items to also support the maintenance of the place.
Note- Two armored police vehicles were parked right outside the complex for security purposes. Don’t be alarmed by their presence but be vigilant."
