"The Kasubi Tombs in Kampala are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the burial place of the kings of Buganda. They hold a special place in Ganda culture, symbolizing spirituality, tradition, and continuity. The main structure, built mainly from wood, reeds, and thatch, is a striking example of traditional Ganda architecture.
Unfortunately, a major fire in 2010 destroyed much of the site. Since then, UNESCO and the Buganda Kingdom have been working on restoring it while keeping its authenticity intact.
That said, my visit felt a bit anticlimactic. The site has so much potential, but there isn’t much to see or do at the moment. Access is limited to a small area, and it would have been amazing to walk more freely around the grounds to really feel the history and age of the place."
