What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Kharkiv Cable Car offers a unique, nostalgic ride with stunning views of Sarzhin Yar, making it a memorable experience for many. While the vintage equipment and unique boarding process are charming, some visitors note it requires careful timing and agility, highlighting a less modern safety approach. It's a popular attraction, especially when combined with visits to Gorky Park.
"The cable car is highly unsafe. It doesn't stop so you have to literally run and jump while getting in. One mistake and you'll fall in the jungle/park below.
Same while moving out. The moment it is about to reach the ground, you need to open the door (while you are still flying over the jungle since the speed is highly 😂) and literally calculate the timing when to jump. Yes, jump! Otherwise it will take you back to the top 😂
Again, one mistake, one foot tumbled or wrong calculation and you will fall or you might be floating half in the air and half in the car.
The doors don't close properly. They can open anytime in between so while watching the view below, you must watch yourself so that you don't fall down in the jungle/park.
Good view but bad experience!"

"Cool, I remembered my childhood. Well, and the equipment is also from my childhood 😅. The ticket costs 30 UAH, the descent takes 18 minutes. It is better to visit in spring-summer and golden autumn, it is very beautiful. It goes down to Gorky Park, also a gorgeous place, you can walk there. The return ticket to the top is also 30 UAH. Children up to 110 cm are free. A certificate is required upon boarding."

This involves a precise timing of getting on and off as the cabin moves, which some travelers describe as requiring agility and a bit of a jump. This aspect, while thrilling for some, has also led to comments about safety and the need for caution.
