What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Zaporizhzhia River Port to be a place with significant historical charm, primarily offering enjoyable boat excursions on the Dnieper River. However, the passenger facilities are widely criticized for being outdated and poorly maintained, lacking basic amenities. The natural beauty of the river is a strong positive, contrasting with the neglected state of the port itself.
"This River Port (passenger part) definitely requires more serious investments in order to be a landmark and attract tourists. Now, although they take care of it as best they can, you can't call this place attractive. The only plus is excursion routes by boats and motor ships on weekends, including with locking. We ourselves have gone by boats more than once from this river port, as well as from the port in Duba Roshcha, around Khortitsa, along the Dnieper. Very beautiful places and views. Earlier, in the 80-90s, these ports were more amazing, since meteors and comets (on surface wings) went, but then with the collapse of the Union they were recognized as unprofitable and everything was sold somewhere. Although they went so quickly from Zaporozhye to Energodar, Kakhovka, for example, much faster than by car. Conclusion - there is nothing special to do in the port, except for fishing, a walk on a river boat and photography. The price of a boat excursion is 140-170 UAH depending on the route (in 2019)."

"Away from the port, so much space near the water is simply abandoned. It would be possible to make a good location for rest and walks, a small park, for example, 2-3 coffee shops. No trash bins, no benches, everything is rusty and old. As if the authorities do not know about the existence of this place."

"Friends, you invite tourists on excursions, the port, the passenger part, is in terrible condition. Stuck in the 80s-90s! There are no benches, no trash cans, but why? But there is a cafe, where would we be without it!
Of course, a huge plus is the excursions by boats and ships.
Tickets for a pleasure boat MUST be booked in advance.
The price of an excursion by boat is 140-170 UAH. depending on the route (in 2019)."
