Reviews Summary

Torotoro Bolivia is lauded for its unique paleontological and geological wonders, offering an unforgettable adventure. Visitors rave about the dinosaur footprints, impressive caverns, and surreal rock formations. However, some find the dining options limited and the infrastructure basic, requiring a willingness to embrace a more rustic travel experience.

"Had the best time at brunch! In winter they open the terrace, so you’re basically dining right out on the Marina. The food is simple but the flavours are incredibly creative. Entertainment and dancers? Top-notch. And finally - a place where the music doesn’t blow your ears off."

Sintija Elnione

"I had a wonderful experience at Toro Toro! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was lively and inviting, setting the tone for a great meal. The food was absolutely delicious—every dish was beautifully presented, full of bold flavors, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Each bite was enjoyable and perfectly balanced.

The drinks were just as impressive. Creative, refreshing, and expertly crafted, they paired wonderfully with the food and added to the overall experience. Whether you’re stopping by for dinner, drinks, or both, Toro Toro delivers on all fronts. I’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, flavorful, and thoroughly enjoyable dining experience."

Maz Nazemi

"Nice atmosphere. The food was not what I expected. I wouldn't really call it "fusion" as much as "confused."

The venezuelan corn dish (cachapas) was good, but very heavy with a lot more cheese and sauce than expected and not so much actual corn. They definitely need to add more corn. You can barely taste the corn at all.

They had another dish (encocado) which the waiter described as soup. I asked if it was more like a curry and he looked at me like he didn't understand and then he said, "it's like a soup..." The dish comes out and it's not soup, it's literally just Thai red curry with a pretty standard generic flavor. No idea why they would claim it's a Colombian soup. I could make that blindfolded. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't even remotely Latino Colombian or fusion. If I wanted basic Thai red curry, I could get it for much less at the mall."

Exploring the Prehistoric Past: Dinosaur Footprints

Torotoro is a paleontologist's dream, famously known for its abundance of dinosaur footprints. These tracks, preserved in the soft mud of ancient riverbeds millions of years ago, offer a tangible connection to the Mesozoic era. Visitors can see these prints at various sites, with the most accessible and impressive ones often visited as part of guided tours. It's crucial to follow your guide's instructions to avoid damaging these fragile fossils. The sheer scale and number of tracks are awe-inspiring, providing a unique glimpse into the prehistoric ecosystem of what is now Bolivia. TikTokReddit

Seeing these ancient imprints is a highlight for many visitors. The guides often explain the different types of dinosaurs that roamed the area and how the tracks were formed. It’s a powerful reminder of the immense geological timescale and the life that existed long before us. Remember to wear appropriate footwear, as the terrain can be uneven and sometimes muddy, especially after rain. Reddit

While the dinosaur footprints are a major draw, they are just one part of Torotoro's rich paleontological heritage. The area also boasts fossilized marine life and other geological wonders, making it a fascinating destination for anyone interested in Earth's history. TikTok

Venturing into the Depths: Umajalanta Cavern

The Umajalanta Cavern is an underground adventure that requires a good sense of exploration and a willingness to get a little dirty. This extensive cave system features stunning stalactites, stalagmites, and underground rivers. To explore it safely and effectively, hiring a local guide is mandatory. They know the best routes, point out interesting formations, and ensure you don't get lost in the labyrinthine passages. Reddit

Visitors often describe the experience as thrilling, with narrow passages, large chambers, and the eerie beauty of the underground formations. You'll likely need to crawl, climb, and wade through shallow water at times, making it an active and memorable excursion. Bringing a headlamp is absolutely essential, as the only light inside the cave comes from your own equipment. TikTokReddit
