What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Jebel Yibir Viewpoint is lauded for its breathtaking panoramic views, spectacular sunsets/sunrises, and incredible stargazing opportunities, offering a peaceful escape from city life. While it's less developed than Jebel Jais and lacks facilities like restrooms, its tranquility and natural beauty make it a highly recommended destination for nature lovers and those seeking a serene getaway.
"This place is truly amazing, offering a breathtaking view from the top of the mountain. If the weather is clear, you can expect a spectacular sunset. The journey from the valley itself is remarkable, with gradients and curves. At night, the view of the glowing valley, including RAK city, is mesmerising. Be sure to take your ID with you to obtain the entry permit. No washroom facility is available."

"Visited Jebel Yibir on June 5, 2025 – the view from the top is amazing! The Guest House was very nice and comfortable. Perfect spot for a peaceful staycation. 🌿⛰️"

"A great view uptop, very quiet and far away from everything, but not much else. As of July '25, the viewpoint is comparatively much less developed compared to the new road, with minimal barriers and unpaved roads. There is no reception uptop, only a hint of 4g/5g with the wind every 5 minutes.. However it is much, much emptier than Jebel Jais which is a highlight.
Not much parking space but I won't imagine it would ever get so busy to fill up the spots. Aside from parking on the road which isnt recommended, the only spots to park are near cliff edges. I'm hoping this area would be developed to the standard seen in the Jebel Jais viewpoint. The view was still nice even during a humid summer evening. I'd imagine it would look incredible during the winter.
I did notice a lot of trash strewn during my visit. Please try to keep this place clean."

The Journey Up: A Scenic Drive
Unlike the more developed Jebel Jais, Jebel Yibir's access road is noted as being less developed with some unpaved sections. This adds to the raw, natural feel of the destination. The journey prepares you for the tranquility that awaits at the summit, making the drive a significant part of the overall experience.
Nighttime Magic: Stars and City Lights
In addition to the stars, the viewpoint offers a mesmerizing sight of the glowing valley below, including the lights of RAK city. This contrast between the vast, dark sky and the distant urban glow creates a unique and unforgettable ambiance. For those planning an overnight stay, remember to bring a flashlight or phone torch for navigation and a jacket as temperatures can drop significantly after midnight.
A Less-Traveled Gem: Tranquility and Nature
While it may lack the extensive facilities of more developed tourist spots, this simplicity is part of its charm. The unpaved roads and minimal development contribute to a feeling of being truly immersed in nature. It's a place where you can connect with the outdoors, enjoy the cool breeze, and find a sense of calm, making it a highly recommended destination for a break from the ordinary.
