"We visited Activate at the O2 Arena on 12th December as part of our work Christmas gathering. It was organised by our employer as a group activity, and we were a group of 10, split into two teams of five.

Overall, it can be a good laugh and a decent bonding activity with colleagues or friends. However, there were a few downsides. The first thing you notice is the heat — the air conditioning really isn’t sufficient. Once you start doing fast-paced activities, it gets uncomfortably hot very quickly.

The games themselves are a bit hit and miss. You’re given instructions before entering each room, but once inside, things can be quite confusing. Often, before you fully understand what’s going on, time runs out and you’re asked to leave the room. Some games really need to be played three or four times before you actually understand how they work — which isn’t always possible.

That said, it’s still a fun group experience and good for team bonding. Personally, though, it felt like a one-time experience rather than something I’d rush back to do again."

"Great fun and great exercise mentally and physically.

I came here with a group of 10, we split into teams of 5 and the group that gathered the most stars won!

There’s 6 rooms you can play in but within those 6 rooms there are like 6-8 different games to be played within them.

Each game I played was really fun and some were really a work out, like the led room where the floor changes colours.

Overall fun place for family or friends! It does get quite competitive too.

Definitely will be coming back!"
