What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the breathtaking views of the lakes, Cadair Idris, and the distant Barmouth Bridge. The accessibility from the car park makes it ideal for families and those seeking scenic beauty without strenuous effort. However, the narrow and winding access road can be a challenge for some drivers.
"Beautiful views of the Lake, Barmouth, Cadair Idris. Can be challenging driving up there if ypur not used to tight bendy country, hilly roads. Toilets are present but limited. Only 1 toilet available when I visited (22/8/2025) and only option for parking was £5. No ANPR so unlikely you'll get fined if you choose not to pay. I guess its the only income they get for the Car park and toilets donuts a personal choice. Love going there but be prepared it can be a challenge driving up there of you're not confident reversing back a distance to find a passing place. Definitely worth the view!!!"

"An ideal place to park up and enjoy some picturesque scenery, without the need to walk miles.
National Trust land with a pay & display car park and toilet, just the place for a day out with a picnic, sat either looking across the lakes and hills, or climb a little to take in the views down to the estuary and Barmouth."
Will Hardin
"Lovely little walk with the car park very close to the water. The access road is very narrow and twisty and you will have to get out a couple of times to open and close a gate for your car"
