Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Ashpits Pond Nature Reserve for its abundant birdlife and family-friendly atmosphere. The accessible paths, free parking, and on-site cafe add to the positive experience. While the observation tower's limited accessibility is a minor drawback, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, highlighting it as a peaceful and engaging natural escape.

"Fabulous day out for the family or on your own. The birdwatching is amazing, so many different species. There's lots of activities for children at holiday times. Nice cafe with efficient hard working staff. The car park is free and of a good size. We've been here many times in the past and will surely visit many more times in the future."

"Brilliant day out for families and nature lovers alike. We were greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff inside a clean, well kept and cosy visitor centre. The park is split into two halves: one that has lots of endangered birds and some things to entertain children, and another that feels more like a traditional nature reserve. Both sides are quiet, peaceful and interesting to explore.
Plenty of variety of ducks, swans and geese, as well as rarer species such as cranes and flamingos, to look at. You can even feed the birds in the European section. Lots of exceptionally clean hides, some with stunning panoramic views but all with beautiful views (it is possible to see even more animals from the hides), additionally there is an observation tower in the visitor centre which offers stunning views of the landscape and nature, sadly if you are in a wheelchair you can't get to this one as it is only accessed by steep, spiral steps. Plenty of things to keep kids entertained, and quite a few places to stop for a picnic. The whole thing is set on a beautiful landscape which makes coming even more worthwhile. Definitely worth a full day's worth of a visit."

"Fabulous few hours in this beautiful location. Lots of wildlife to see and opportunity to feed the geese and duck (remember your stock of 20p).
Free parking, dogs on leads and easy access for those with mobility issues.
Staff are very friendly and I was fortunate to get in for £1 as part of the HASSRA scheme.
Lovely cafe and gift shop."
