Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the breathtaking coastal scenery and the unique thrill of crossing the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. The well-maintained path and the island's natural beauty are highlights. However, the bridge's closure due to wind can be a significant disappointment for those who travel specifically to experience it.

"This was one of the highlights of our Scotland and Ireland trip (and even though the trip isn’t over yet, it’s definitely going to be in our top 3).

The color of the water, the rock formations, the friendly staff, and the scenic walk to and from the rope bridge, Carrick-a-Rede was absolutely unforgettable. It reminded me a bit of Big Sur in California, but with a completely different vibe.

During peak season, around 2,000 people visit each day, and tickets must be booked in advance for a specific time slot. In November though, advance booking isn’t really necessary, and the experience might actually be even better without the crowds as long as the weather cooperates."

"This was so cool! The hike to the bridge may be a little lengthy for some people and the hike back to the parking lot is steep!

If the bridge is closed before you arrive, don’t worry. There’s still the chance for the weather to clear up by the time you arrive at the bridge (happened to me. Was closed but it opened up while I hiked up to the bridge!)"

Liz Jimenez

"Fun hike for the whole family. The difficulty is negligible and all age groups were seen traversing the different paths (1 path broken into 3 parts).

There is a small cafe on site with limited options, but enough to get you through. There are washrooms there too, but you're there for the views.

The views are incredible and the suspension bridge is a bit of a thrill. Worth it to find a seat on a rock on the other side and breath the ocean air in. Glad we did it. Our group ranged from ages 11 to 70."
