What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Roman Camp Parc y Bryn for its stunning panoramic views of the Menai Strait and its historical significance as a Roman outpost. It's a peaceful spot for relaxation, dog walking, and stargazing. However, the lack of paved paths and amenities, along with occasional litter, are noted drawbacks.
"This walk is difficult for anyone with even slight mobility issues and certainly not wheelchair friendly. Seats at the view point overlooking Bangor pier, Ynys Môn and West towards Y Felinheli. But do not expect paved or tarmac footpaths as you will be disappointed."

"Although I saw a couple of signs pointing towards the direction of the Roman Camp, I didn't come across any information panels or similar that confirmed when you had reached there. Being a bit of a history nerd, I did recognise the lumps and bumps in the large field as being suspiciously manmade. There is a nice viewing area, overlooking the Menai Straits but there were signs of a recent grassland fire and lots of empty alcohol bottles and cans, so I felt slightly uneasy about staying there too long. Free to visit."

"Believed to have been built during the Roman occupation of Britain in the 1st century AD, this site is thought to have served as a military outpost for the Roman army to control the area and protect key trade routes. From this vantage point, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the Menai Strait and Bangor."
