Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Baron's Haugh RSPB Reserve as a peaceful, natural escape ideal for dog walking and wildlife observation, with extensive trails and scenic river views. However, some recent changes have impacted accessibility to marsh hides, and trail conditions can be muddy and eroded, requiring suitable footwear. Litter is also noted as an occasional issue.

"Wonderful peaceful place to go for a walk and take in some nature. This area is my go to place locally for walking the dogs, pathways are extensive and mixed, in relatively good condition (although some eroded by River Clyde) and currently there is obviously some work going on to provide markers and new information boards. If visiting please take your litter with you, I often see volunteers cleaning it up which they shouldn’t have to."

Brian Muir

"It’s now so difficult to walk around the RSPB should be ashamed of the management
It’s no longer meant for humans
The river is being allowed (as it’s cheaper) to flow through the reserve taking with it pedestrian access
The marsh hide is now so far away from the water it’s impossible to see close up and wild fowl !
This used to be a favourite Kingfisher roost and an area where they would feed , not any more!"

Ian Gardiner

"Great place for a walk...lots of trails to follow..bridges..water...just lovely to hear the birds chirping away.."
