"Heavily ruined castle, of which only the core of the walls and two stories of the keep remain. Previously open to visitors during Saffron Walden Museum opening hours, but fenced off for repairs when I visited in spring 2023. While it remains closed, it's only worth a look if you're already visiting Saffron Walden - fortunately there's plenty more to see in town, including the impressive St Mary's church."
