"English heritage property in Cheshire, this year Beeston castle celebrates it's 800 year old anniversary. It's quite a steep walk up to the top of the castle but once up there the views are amazing. Half way up the hill is a round house . Plenty of parking which is free for members. Gift shop/toilets. Check the website for events ."

We had Dave a volunteer who was absolutely amazing.
Our 10yr son who normally isn’t interested in castles was listening to everything Dave said and even asked lots of questions.
Dave you’re a legend."

The Steep Ascent: What to Expect
The reward for this effort is truly spectacular. Once you reach the summit, you're greeted with breathtaking 360-degree views across the Cheshire plain and beyond. On a clear day, the vistas are expansive and offer a fantastic sense of scale and history. This makes it a prime spot for photography and simply soaking in the atmosphere. Remember to bring water, especially on warmer days, as the climb can be strenuous.
A Glimpse into History
Although it saw some action during the English Civil War, it was eventually slighted (deliberately damaged) to prevent its use as a fortress. Today, what remains are impressive ruins that offer a tangible connection to England's medieval past. Exploring the remnants of the walls and imagining the lives of those who once inhabited this imposing structure is a key part of the Beeston Castle experience. The site also celebrates its 800-year anniversary, highlighting its long and storied history.
