What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors are often surprised by the beauty of Belper Parks, with many initially underwhelmed by the entrance but ultimately captivated by the majestic woodlands and spectacular hilltop views. It's a highly recommended spot for dog walkers and those seeking a peaceful natural escape, though the lack of facilities and potentially muddy paths are minor drawbacks.
"Wasn't sure what to make of this place as we arrived. Google took us the wrong way so it took a few minutes to find it. The entrance that we went on didn't look as much and I was thinking about turning back, but then the sun came out and thought meh let's go what's the worst that can happen. My dear Lord I am so glad I didn't turn back as this place is just majestic. I love the woodland, it is not a thick one and you can venture in between the trees. Lots of little gems if you do where people have made little huts. There's a stream at the bottom which is not deep so your doggies can dip their paws in there. As you walk to the top you'll see a field with some exercise tables (for all of you keen gym goers) 🥰 and as you turn around there are some spectacular views. My doggies loved this place. Think they were zooming for the whole three hours we were there. There are no horse riders here or livestock that we could see and you can get away with just walking boots as it wasn't that muddy and I doubt it ever gets too muddy as it is on a heel. There are also a few bins here and there, another added bonus. Must see if you're in the area 🥰"

"Within easy 5 minute walking distance from town.
Plenty of car parks around town to use.
This is part woods, part fields.
It's not particularly large and after 35 minutes we had done it.
Not suitable for pushchairs.
Walking boots advised as muddy in areas.
Great for walking dogs, and if you head to the field up the hill there is a small children's play area.
No toilets or food facilities."

"Nice Park to take a wonder around.
Free parking at the Copice in Belper, also worth a walk around.
Then when you're hungry, try eating out at one of the many home grown eateries (avoid the chains) or having a drink at one of the number of craft ale bars, cocktail bar, or sports pubs (if that's your thing).
Always stuff on (such as the wollen woods) so get on t'internet to see whats kicking off...and get joining in!"
