What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Berney Arms Windmill a striking landmark with a unique railway station. While access to the windmill itself can be limited and amenities are scarce, the peaceful riverside location and the novelty of the shortest train platform are significant draws. It's appreciated for its quiet charm and picturesque views, though some express disappointment over the lack of public access and upkeep.
"Fantastic windmill
No public access other than the river bank via free moorings"
Darren βDazβ Leake
"Falling apart a bit but then probably hard to maintain due to location. Its a massive windmill, there is a sign outisde they can flip over saying open or closed to the public so may be open sometimes. Lots of space to moor boats. Space to picnic but no benches or tables. 15 mins slow walk from the train station."
Susannah Hughes
"Been closed for years. English Heritage, are you ever going to complete maintenance and let the public visit again?"
