"A little piece of history in the Yorkshire Dales!
Toft Gate Lime Kiln is fantastic for a free historic adventure in the countryside! Without going into detail, as the information boards around provide plenty, this is a historic Lime Kiln. It's amazing how well preserved this area is and how it hides amongst the landscape.
It's ideal to stop off and spend a few hours at, with good views, good walks and a good area to picnic! Parking is free but donations are accepted in an honesty box.
Equally, you can visit Coldstones Cut which is just up the mountain!"
