Visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, the chance to spot wildlife like otters and kingfishers, and its convenient proximity to town amenities. "Stour Meadows is an absolute gem of a park nestled right in the heart of Blandford Forum. Running alongside the tranquil River Stour, it offers stunning views, peaceful walks, and a real sense of calm — no matter the season.
I often take my dog, Bailey, for walks here, and it's become one of our favourite spots. There’s something really special about the way the light dances on the water and the open green space feels like a proper escape from the hustle and bustle. Whether we’re meandering through the meadows, watching the ducks on the river, or just enjoying the fresh air, it’s always a joy.
It’s also beautifully maintained, with plenty of space for dogs to run around, families to enjoy picnics, or just to sit and take it all in. The paths are great for a relaxed stroll or even a longer walk if you fancy exploring further along the Stour.
A real treasure for locals and visitors alike. Couldn’t recommend it more."

"A beautiful place to come for a walk or picnic. We parked in Morrisons car park for a small fee, had a lovely lunch at the crown pub (delicious, a bit pricey but definitely worth it) and then for a walk - not a massive hike but a very beautiful walk along the river, great for families, a good path to walk along."
