"The most famous “resident” of St Michael's street churchyard in Dumfries, Scotland's national poet Robert Burns . Originally completed in 1817 from the red sandstone."

"What an amazing graveyard. This has to be one of the most impressive I've ever seen in Scotland so far. The size and quality of the memorials and tombs are incredible. The highlight of the visit is the magnificent Robert Burns mausoleum, which contains his memorial and frieze sculpture. It's open at certain times of the week to go inside, however it's not necessary as there is ample opportunities to take pictures of the inside from the outside. In the North corner of the graveyard is the site of Burns' original grave."
