"This is a very sheltered little marina and very casual. The harbourmaster has no office but you can contact him on his mobile. Payment is via honesty box in cash. Would be helpful to know that in advance.
When we were there we managed to get a finger berth but the next day there were three boats rafted out waiting for a better forecast.
The showers are basic. Actually one shower and two toilets in each of the ladies and gents. But enough hot water and soft Scottish water at that! One of the gents toilets was running continuously and could not be stopped.
The town is a real mix. Lots of empty shops but friendly people in others. We did the Springbank distillery tour which was fun but the best whisky we tasted was not available to buy. They should tell you that ahead of time.
Coop and Tesco’s are small but reasonably stocked."
