The breathtaking island views and legendary sunsets are major highlights, making the journey worthwhile. While the water is bracingly cold and facilities are minimal, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, offering a peaceful escape.

"Love this beach, about a 5 minute walk from the car park. Famous for being the location for Local Hero. Also a well known spot for weddings and events, with prior agreement required. Met a lovely couple who were having their wedding photos taken following their wedding in 2020 during covid."

Kath Tait

"What a lovely beach this is! I've been here midsummer and midwinter, and it's truly beautiful every time. OK so it gets dark at 3pm in midwinter, and the water is never very warm even in the summer, but the sand is clean and soft and it's only a short walk from the car park, through some nice sand dunes, to get here.

If you like relaxing wild places by the sea then this is the place for you."

Warren Photographic

"Stunning coral beach, crystal clear waters, panoramic views.
Weather was fantastic which added to the moment.
Fair drive to get here but well worth the journey...Observed a unusual occasion on the beach, a marriage. Brides piped in to the beach with a Scots man in the traditional regalia of kilt and bagpipes, quiet a site....
I can see the attraction of having a Caribbean wedding on a coral beach on the west coast of Scotland....The only thing missing was tickets for the flights that were not needed !"
