It's highly praised as a dog-friendly destination with excellent walking and cycling trails, making it a perfect spot for a family day out or a peaceful escape.
"Beautiful park with stunning views around the lake, great walks perfect for walking the dogs, sight seeing or going for a run, very dog friendly, definitely worth a visit or 2 so much to see and do, mountain biking trails are well kept like all the paths, plenty of parking"

"Can’t tell you how much I love castlewellen. Grew up going here with family. So many amazing memories, doesn’t matter what season. Staff are amazing"

"We stayed at the campsite here for one night and really enjoyed it. It's a well kept site with good toilet and shower facilities although the toilets were a little bit of a distance from our pitch. The setting is fantastic with lovely scenery, nice forest walks and a large lake with a big castle on the hill overlooking the lake. From the campsite it's a short 10 min walk into the town where you have a supermarket, pubs, food outlets, coffe shops etc. We will be back for a longer stay in the near future and will probably bring bicycles and kayaks to make more use of the facilities here. There's a maze and play area's for kids to enjoy and plenty of space to run around.
Definitely worth a visit."
