What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Coronation Park is a well-loved community space praised for its free family amenities and vibrant events like the Medieval Festival. While some visitors note a decline in council maintenance, the park remains a popular spot for picnics, play, and free fitness activities, largely due to its dedicated community spirit.
"Used to be lovely. Unfortunately WLBC have seen fit to spend the budget that made it lovely on the millions towards their new Skem offices, and be damned to our once beautiful town.
Ranger services, dog waste bins, water sanitation, wildlife care, gardening care, pathway maintenance... You name it, they've cut it... But ask the council and they'll tell you it's all County's fault not theirs."
Michael Hoban (Milek Scythe)
"Good place for a picnic on sunny days with seating at various places around the park (also ice cream van is usually there). It's adjacent to the swimming pool (Park Pool) in Ormskirk and Morrisons supermarket.
Parking is FREE on Sundays and bank holidays at Park Pool otherwise pay and display (very cheap, not more than a few pounds for all day). There is FREE parking at Morrisons for 90 minutes.
There are three play areas for children with advised playing ages (swings, slides, climbing frames etc.); also an unfenced duck pond to walk and sit around.
Toilet facilities are either in the swimming pool building or Morrisons; unfortunately the toilets in the park are 'out of order' or now permanently closed."
