Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Cwm Idwal for its stunning natural beauty and accessible hiking trails. The dramatic glacial valley, serene lake, and challenging Devil's Kitchen are highlights. While parking can be an issue, many find the views well worth the effort, making it a must-visit in Snowdonia.

"This is a great hike! Don’t miss it if you are in the area! About 2 hours to complete the full loop and the views are gorgeous all the way up and back. While the parking lot isn’t very large, there does seem to be a steady stream of people coming and going so cars aren’t parked there all day. There are bathrooms and a small cafe at the start which is helpful too. But it’s the views (for not that strenuous of an effort) that make this such a great hike!"

Kate DiMinno

"Very beautiful once you have hiked up, easy to reach, park at a lay-by. Not very crowded and peaceful location, be careful with the flies.. they’re a bit of a pain. Pictures are from end of August time."

Nikhil Chavan

"Been on many wonderful walks in Wales, but this is really one of the best. 5 km easy walk to and around the lake. Stunning views, birds to watch, etc. it's also an easy walk, and if the weather permits, you can dip in a stream or the lake (if it's permitted, better check)."
