Visitors consistently praise the falconry experience at Dalhousie Castle as incredible and highly recommended, with many calling it a 'bucket list' item. The knowledgeable and enthusiastic falconers, particularly Barry, are frequently highlighted for making the sessions educational and engaging. Guests love the up-close interactions with a variety of birds of prey, finding the experience worth every penny.
"Great experience. Had family members up holidaying with us from southern England. One of the party didn't want to participate so she enjoyed walking the lovely grounds with a dog. The rest of our group had a fantastic time with the birds. The owl Bailey was very relaxed and gently and seemed to really like people. The Harris Hawk Bowie was stunning to see a raptor up close and flew so precisely. Barry the keeper was so enthusiastic about birds and animals and his talk while handling the birds was very informative, and he readily answered questions
Only downside was the time of the experience flew past (sorry!) ,but the testament was the rest of the party said they would love to come back again!
Throughly recommend"

"Falconry Scotland at Dalhousie Castle was an incredible experience getting to see owls and raptors up close and even getting to hold some!! You need to book a tour with Falconry Scotland! Barry was phenomenal showing us the birds they have and was patient to answer all our questions. We got to fly the Asian Brown Wood Owl and Harris Hawk as a group and then were able to hold a different bird. Our group chose a Steppe Eagle, Lanner Falcon, and Gyrfalcon!! These are incredible creatures and I was fascinated by them. Thanks Falconry Scotland for a wonderful memory!!"

"What an amazing experience and not something you can easily find stateside. The feeling of the bird flying onto your arm is absolutely incredible. I could have done this all day, and our falconer was extremely knowledgeable about the birds. We learned so much about each type of bird, what and how they hunt, how they're trained, where they purchase them, and so much more. We were also astonished by the 51 year old female raptor in residence! I hope to be able to do this experience again."
