What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally find Dearne Valley Park to be a lovely place for a walk, especially appreciating the lakes, waterfowl, and woodland areas. It's noted as a good spot for families with a playground and opportunities to feed birds. However, some reviewers wish for more facilities like toilets and extended paths, and acknowledge that the park can get muddy in winter.
"Lovely to see the baby ducks, geese, water fowl etc; and the lake is quite clean and clear. The main paths are well maintained, so it's a shame that some areas close to the water are quite overgrown with nettles; but that might be to protect the birds from people getting too close? It would be nice to have some facilities there, e.g. a toilet block, water drinking fountains, bird watching hut and so on."
Julie Dickinson (JuJu61)
"Beautiful in summer, muddy in winter. Asphalt paths need to be extended around the pond as drainage is poor. Woodland paths are accessible. Trees are adequately maintained. Plenty of bins for waste but some people do not want to use them - shame on them! The public are friendly as are the dog walkers. Generally a good experience."
Bob Kendall
