Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Dumfries Museum for its extensive and varied exhibits, covering local history and the life of Robert Burns. The free entry is a significant plus, and the Camera Obscura is highlighted as a unique, albeit chargeable, attraction. Some minor drawbacks include limited shop stock and the physical effort required for the Camera Obscura climb.

"Very large museum in Dumfries with lots of variety to the displays. Shop on site (though magnets on display had very limited stock (1) so we were disappointed). Free entry, toilets available and drinking water. Worthy of several hours visit to take everything in."

Joshua Tann

"A great place to visit with lots of searches for the kids (find all the historic lego figures, find all the animals, search for all the faces etc) this place is free to enter but sadly on the day we visited the weather was poor so we couldn't access the camera obscura which is chargeable to see out over Dumfries. The museum has just about everything, lots of interesting artifacts about the area, the building itself is beautiful and the staff were on hand to answer any questions, we'll worth a visit."
