3 day Edinburgh Itinerary

I'd add Pittencrieff Park for Dunfermline. It's right next to the Abbey and it's lovely, particularly down along the river. Also, has free roaming peacocks! There's nothing that interesting in the city centre though, you can walk through it in 5 mins, some decent pubs still.

A great spot for dogs to run freely, with safe open areas. Reddit :dog2:

Reviews Summary

Dunfermline Public Park is a large, historic green space with beautiful views and a good playground for children. While many appreciate its open areas and potential, some visitors note that certain parts of the park, including the bandstand, appear run-down and could benefit from more maintenance. Reddit

"Such a beautiful park and it's huge! So glad we decided to take a trek up to the park. Its such a lovely open space would be great place for a picnic.

Nice big section for kids and family. But plenty of space to get away from the noise if you just want to take in the view and if you go to the higher spots you get one amazing view.

The only downside for me is I wish there were more benches especially in the lower sections of the park."

Dale Lansley

"I don't leave a lot of negative reviews as I try and always be positive about everything in life and this park has a lot going for it and could be really great with some TLC. It's a huge park with an interesting history to it. Walking distance from the town centre, train station, football ground, free car parking, nicely laid out and so much potential
Looking a bit run down, the wooded walk is a no no, park on the other side of the underpass is neglected and the beautiful bandstand (Victorian?) looks lonely and out of place and also needing a bit of care & maintenance. Overall a nice place to walk and to kill a bit of time while enjoying the peace & quiet but it could be so much better"

Brian Henderson

"Great park with good playgrounds for the kids and in summer there’s lots of exercise classes on. Steep hill if you’re walking up from the train station which is at the bottom of the park. Great for dog walkers too."
