What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Miller's Crossing Footbridge is appreciated for its access to scenic River Exe views, wildlife, and extensive playing fields, making it a popular spot for walkers, cyclists, and families. However, some visitors note that the bridge's maintenance could be improved, with mentions of chipped pathways and a less-than-pristine appearance.
"Thought I'd share my opinions on this foot bridge opened in 2002. Well looks like the contractors skimped on materials. Pathway is chipped and surface is pitter. Bridge is covered in lichen and dirt. Paint is rough and moldy. No one has cleaned it since it opened it seems. Shameful for what was probably a prestige project. Looks like it was built in 1972 not 2002"

Exploring the River Exe and its Surroundings
The bridge also provides crucial access to the adjacent playing fields, which are expansive and offer plenty of open space. This makes it a popular spot for a variety of recreational activities. Whether you're a cyclist enjoying a ride, a jogger getting in your miles, or a family looking for a place to play, the open fields cater to diverse needs.

Visitor Experiences and Bridge Condition
However, some reviews point to a decline in the bridge's upkeep since its opening in 2002. Comments mention chipped pathways, rough and moldy paint, and an overall appearance that some feel looks older than its actual age. This suggests that while the bridge is functional and provides access, its aesthetic condition might not meet everyone's expectations.
Despite these concerns about maintenance, the bridge remains a valued local amenity. Its strategic location for accessing green spaces and enjoying the natural beauty of the River Exe ensures its continued use by the community and visitors alike.
