Fairy Pools, The Isle Of Skye looking beautiful as ever. This is where mythological creatures The Selkies (disguised as large seals) would shed their skin and change into human form at night and bathe under a full moon 🤷🏻‍♂️. #scottishhighlands #isleofskye #skye #fairypools #waterfall #scotland.live #schottland #visitscotland #glenbrittle

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Fairy Pools for their breathtaking natural beauty, describing the clear, vibrant waters and cascading waterfalls as magical and otherworldly. The scenic walk and the opportunity for wild swimming are also highlights. However, many note the significant crowds, challenging terrain, and the unpredictable weather as potential drawbacks.

"This is a long walk from the car park. This would not be a good area for anyone with assisted walking devices. The path to the pools are long in distance. There is a steep hill to walk down and then back up. I saw older people having to stop and rest. I am 64 and didn’t have any issues. I am in good health and not overweight. I am not sure if I would recommend this stop to tourist. If you have seen waterfalls before then this is underwhelming. The land around is not as pretty as other areas. I did see people wearing bug netting over their heads. I found that this was not needed when we were there in the middle of August. When we were there the rest rooms were closed but it was after 5:00."

Lisa Byxbe

"This is a beautiful collection of multiple waterfalls cascading down the side of a massive mountain. There is a gravel path along the side of the water for the first mile, then it's more rocky terrain. We went on a rainy and windy day, it was relatively crowded. Parking here is £8 for a car. There are bathrooms open until 1700."

Erika Dueñas

"I visited the Fairy Pools in Scotland, and it was an amazing experience. The water is so clear and blue, and the waterfalls are beautiful. The walk to get there is really nice with stunning mountain views. It felt peaceful and magical. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Skye!"
