What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Flatts Lane Country Park for its beautiful woodland, spectacular views, and excellent free parking. The new adventure playground is a hit with families, and the park is highly regarded as dog-friendly. Some note that the park is quite hilly, contrary to its name, and the visitor centre's cafe hours can be inconsistent.
"An idyllic country park, with spectacular views of the surrounding area. Parking is good, although there are only two disabled parking spaces. Wheelchair access is good if you are adept at all-terraining manually or have a powered wheelchair that can handle rough and occasionally muddy flat terrain. Surfaces are varied, with a little tarmac but mostly gravel around the visitor centre, transitioning into compacted earth on the main pathways. If there is rain, the paths may get very muddy and impassable unless on foot. For families there is a playground which was being enjoyed by several families on my mid-October visit. There is also more challenging climbing equipment available for older children. The visitor centre looked well maintained but was shut when I visited on an October weekday afternoon. "Free car park and great circular walk, as there are a number of hills in park, not all areas are easily accessed if less mobile.
Nice kids play area and visitor centre with ice creams if open."
