What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Lancashire Infantry Museum for its welcoming atmosphere, highly knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteer guides, and engaging interactive exhibits. The ability to try on uniforms and photograph displays are significant highlights. While not a vast museum, its well-maintained collections and personalized experiences make it a highly recommended visit for military history enthusiasts and families alike.
"Very welcoming, the curator showed us around and let my kids try on a redcoats jacket and hat. We needed to get security passes at the gate on the way in, which added to the overall experience to be honest. Two decommissioned machine guns with uniform to try on, made them like the whole experience even more. We were allowed to photograph also, which was very nice to see in a museum. Overall had a great time and great memories to take away."

"You need to get your tickets online in advance for security purposes but it's no hassle at all.
It's not a huge museum but it's incredibly well kept and if you're interested in anything military it's well worth a look.
It was quiet when I went (just before Christmas) and so I was lucky to get two of the volunteer guides all to myself.
Friendly, chatty and knowledgeable, they showed me around the place and I ended up spending longer there than I'd expected to.
Admission fees are a one-off and you can revisit the museum for free within the next year by going online and rebooking a free ticket.
One feature of the museum is that they have an extensive archive and for a fee they are prepared to undertake research enquiries if you want information on a particular soldier from the regiments they cover.
Check their website out for details."
