Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Gordano Valley for its peaceful atmosphere, historical intrigue, and natural beauty, making it a great spot for quiet walks and dog outings. While the muddy conditions and sometimes tricky access are noted, the chance to see wildlife and explore ancient sites makes it a rewarding visit for those seeking a dose of rural England. Reddit+3

"Walked along from the woods at the Portishead end. Nice open space with views across to Cadbury Camp. Saw two sparrow hawks."

Stephen Titley

"Usually very quiet, a good setting for a family walk, picnic or run. The local history is really interesting: on the plateau there's a pre-Roman settlement (walls are just about visible, just a foot high nowadays)and three small bomb craters from a German bomber that got lost on a mission to Yate (that's the short version of the story). The woods are pretty and there are some stunning butterfly glades on the south slope near W-i-G. The estuary views to the north are good but you don't come here for the coast, you come here because you are from the coast and want a quick dose of historic rural England."

Owen Lewis

"Great place to walk the dog, good views across the valley"
