"In between the winter Garden and the Lyceum Theatre it would be easy to miss the Graves Gallery as the entire building is under scaffolding and building boards.
Today I spotted someone exiting the building so I took a chance and discovered that it is, in fact, open!
The Gallery is on the 3rd floor above the Library and reached by lift or via a spectacular staircase.
The Gallery houses really beautiful pieces in a variety of mediums and is the sort of place you could visit many times and still see more.
Toilet plus baby changing on this level."

"The gallery is a unique collection of art; some of them can't be photographed because they're on loan from private collectors or are copyrighted, and they're some of the most intriguing ones in my opinion! In some of the rooms, there's visual art displayed on screens, which is quite interesting.

It's a really nice circuit layout atop the public library. It's worth a visit and the gift shop is full of lovely things if you're looking for any souvenirs :)

Staff were really lovely. It was a lovely way to fill around 40-50 minutes. Would definitely recommend if you don't mind the stairs up!"

Ele Booth

"Nice range of classic and contemporary works of art on the third floor of the city library. I spent around 1 hour looking at several masterpieces. Many artists to mention here. The staff are friendly. Just turn up and appreciate the paintings, sculptures and a long tapestry too. I definitely would recommend another visit."
