Reviews Summary

Visitors are impressed by the sheer length and preservation of Great Yarmouth's medieval town walls, recognizing them as a significant historical asset. However, some feel the town could do more to highlight these features, with suggestions for improved signage and greater investment in the surrounding areas to truly showcase their medieval charm.Reddit

"I cannot believe that Great Yarmouth is home to the longest, fairly intact, medieval wall in the country. Why is this fact not public knowledge? We walked most of its length and found some parts trawl through the town and other parts through parks and green spaces as well as residential areas and roads. The information about the wall is well documented with signage along the route but in particular to a park sitting just outside St Christopher’s Church - I find this educational detail brilliant and just wish that one day Yarmouth Council invest more into the areas surrounding the wall - this town could easily be as magical as a small city like Canterbury - it just needs to work on bringing out the medieval features that make it brilliant rather than having so much focus on the glimmer of the seafront entertainment!"

"Medieval walls fascinating but not enough signage to find them easily. Information boards need tarting up to read more easily. No cost to walk beside them . Medieval towers brilliant. Not enough made of these great historical features"
