The place is beautifully kept and the gardens are really well planted up notably with spring bulbs AND also for the summer season.
I advise you not to miss both the upper and the lower levels of the grounds.
The castle mound itself is a bit of a climb but well worth it for the view. The castle does open to but I've never been inside.
There is a fascinating little statue as a tribute to Lewis Carol who wrote 'Alice Through The Looking Glass' very nearby when he lived here.
