"The first time I came here was back in the early Eighties and can remember seeing the awesome circus (when lions and elephants were still allowed in a fairly haphazard environment) and the churned aftermathwhen it left. Seen it flooded almost out of existence too. But it just bounces back and is a great place for picnics and listening to the bagpipes at the bandstand which I saw the other evening."
