Visitors praise Helmsley Walled Garden for its serene atmosphere, beautiful floral displays, and exceptional dog-friendly policy. The converted glasshouse cafe is a highlight, offering delicious refreshments. While some find the entry fee a bit steep for the garden's size, many feel it's justified by the upkeep and welcoming environment.

"A very serene and beautiful garden against the backdrop of Helmsley castle! We parked the car at Cleveland Way car park (£6 for 6 hours), so had plenty of time to explore! The clouds came over which meant we popped into the cafe for coffee and scones for a bit! The glasshouse was converted into an interesting cafe with plenty of fixtures to create interests all around! When the sun finally broke through, it was so pleasant to walk round! There’s still some remaining spring flowers dotted about which added splashes of colour amongst the greenery. It’s completely dog friendly in all areas which was so nice! She got a treat when we purchased the ticket which she loved, thank you!!"

Elisa Winstanley

"Lovely gardens to spend an hour or two. £10 entry is a bit steep as you could get round quickly. There is a large, busy cafe with lovely outdoor tables but I didn't have time to go in."

Karen Wright

"Beautiful gardens with a great variety of flowers on show.
It was a little expensive to get in for the size of the actual gardens (hence the 4/5).
The food and service in the cafe were excellent"
