Reviews Summary
The Old Bridge Hotel is highly praised for its exceptional staff, delicious food, and historic charm, making it a top choice for weddings and dining. While most experiences are overwhelmingly positive, some guests have noted occasional issues with food seasoning and service attentiveness during peak times.
"We had our wedding here in October 2025 and for us it was the most perfect day! We picked the venue for the warm loving feel, the brilliant staff and location and the food of course!
Firstly the location and rooms were brilliant, from staying the night before and getting that all important comfort and sleep, getting ready in the morning with all of my bridesmaids (6 of them) and photographer and 2 hairdressers! There was plenty of space, our breakfast was delivered and served to us, whilst my hubby to be ate his in the restaurant, there plenty of plug sockets, space and mirrors for it all to go amazingly smooth!
The staff from our wedding planner Amber, who was always communicating with us throughout and checking in and answering my endless questions and making sure we had everything in place for our special day! Then, to our “do all and be all” on the day, our event manager and coordinator Cyrill, and of course every single staff member in between (we stayed there 3 days so there were a lot), the bar staff, the waiters, the cleaners, reception. Just everyone, with a smile on their face and polite manner the whole time. We didn’t have to lift a finger or even think for ourselves, Cyrill knew where, when and what we needed to do, so that we didn’t have to and they literally made the day perfect. All of our guests said that they need a Cyrill for their future weddings and just generally in everyday life! We cannot thank him enough.
The food, was one of the main reasons why we chose the venue, we wanted to make sure that we had a good hearty 3 course meal that was luxurious and delicious as well as filling people up. We had the tomato soup to start and everyone said “that’s not just tomato soup that’s amazing!” Then the Lamb shoulder roast and when I say every single plate was cleared… EVERY SINGLE PLATE WAS CLEARED. This was also true with the veggie option which was the Parmesan and mushroom tagliatelle! The for dessert we had the best sticky toffee pudding we have ever had and from then on and across the whole night, the food was one of our biggest compliments we got from the day, we had a multi gold medal Team GB rower in our wedding party so if we could keep him full from the day and evening food we knew it was a hit haha.
Then the evening reception too (of course) went without a single hitch. The staff did amazing to keep the drinks flowing, the rooms tidy and the guests well fed! With a mixture of sofas, armchairs and chairs and tables there was a place for everyone to relax, as well as the outside being covered and the heaters on so guests were also happy to stay outside… in October/November! The evening food was the hot Buffett and again no complaints and clear plates!
Honestly I could write a 10,000 word dissertation on why The Old Bridge made our wedding day so perfect! All we heard all day was “you two look so happy” and that was because all we needed to do was be in the moment and everyone and everything else worked like clockwork because of the staff around us! Every single guest noticed it and were in awe of how amazing you all were. Honestly we will be forever grateful!!"
