"Wooded hill with a network of walking trails and bridleways leading through the trees. There's a bit of history to the area, outlined on the information board. The Octavia Hill memorial bench dates back to 1915, and is ideally placed to take a few moments' rest after the climb to the summit.
There are glimpses of the distant hills through gaps in the vegetation, but many of the other Surrey Hills beat this one for panoramic views, including nearby Hascombe Hill. Around November, the woodland makes up for the restricted views with golden autumn colour, and provides a great habitat for a wide variety of fungi.
There's a reasonable size roughly surfaced free parking area, from which Winkworth Arboretum is only a half hour walk away via Juniper Valley."
