What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Ideford Common is praised for its peaceful atmosphere, diverse wildlife, and beautiful natural landscapes, making it a favorite for walkers and nature lovers. Some visitors note potential issues with parking and unexpected encounters, but the overall sentiment highlights its tranquil charm and scenic beauty.
"I love coming here for a little snooze as its nice and peaceful apart from the distant hum of the motorway. Surrounded by beech trees and braken it has a fresh odour in the air. It's very popular with dog walkers who for some reason park as close as humanly possible to you so you may find yourself having to reverse should you wish to exit your vehicle. There is lots of diverse wild life round here if bird spotting or deer watching is your thing. There are bird feeders which a member of the public has kindly placed here. A word of warning however is that its (i now know) a notorious meeting spot for men wishing to meet other men for nefarious reasons so if you are alone male stopping for a bite do not be too surprised if you are approached for something you had never realised exsited. I was very confused at first as were they I believe 😅"
