"Absolutely abhorrent!!!!!!!!
Another service in this county NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE!!!!!
For a new job I have been told to apply for a childcare code. In order to do so i have had to sign up to government gateway. After a month of being unable to indentify myself and speaking to a multiple people who told me nothing looked wrong their end. Turns out they have my name wrong on the system! Emailed 13 times and didn’t receive a single response. I have called up AGAIN to be told the name I’m giving isn’t what’s on the system and to write a letter to change my name! I’m not changing my name!! Nor do I have the time for this!!! A cockup has sow here along the line been made on their end. And now due to the lack of childcare I was promised, I have now lost my job!!!!!!!
The advisors haven’t got a clue. Another DEI scam that’s playing with people’s lives. Quick enough to tax you into oblivion but no where near trained to help you when you so desperately need them to fix their mistakes!!!!!!!!!!"

"How do you get to speak to anyone at HMRC. You ring the number get kept hanging on interrupted every 30 seconds to say your call is important to us. Its not that important if you keep getting cut off.
1st time 42 minutes 2nd time 46 minutes and today 21st July 2025 28 minutes
Government departments are horrendous. Not worth 1 star"

"At the start, it stated normal waiting times 20 minutes.
It has now been 1 hour and still no answer.
This is absolutely terrible, there should be more staff if that is what is needed. People should not have to wait this long to speak to someone. Sometimes online info does not answer your questions. There isnt even a live web chat.
I really think something should be done about this service."
