"Very Poignant tribute for a very moving and sad incident at the end of the First World War."

Alan Warren

"Fairly large carpark at the end of the single track road, just keep heading towards the small wind farms. There are no amenities here, so go before.

The path towards the memorial is a well tarmacked gentle incline with some information on the way down to it.

The memorial is by the side of the original cairn. The day we went was cold, bright and calm, on such a day, the area looked beautiful and almost impossible to believe the ferociousness of the sea on that fateful night.

Such an awful loss for such a small and close community. Just reading the names gives you an idea of the devastation with the same surnames repeated many times.

A quiet place for contemplation."

Phil Jackson

"Quite emotional. Well worth a visit. But beware the climb back up can be a little daunting if you have mobility issues."
