Long “LW” Walk

"A lovely little nature reserve. It's a little reminiscent of Dungeness, in that it's beauty is wild and sparse. It's one of those pieces of nature that sits adjacent to human industry (in this case, Felixstowe port) and is an oasis. As soon as we stepped in from the car park, we heard a Lesser Whitethroat and a Reed Warbler. Someone has fenced off parts of the beach to protect ground nesting Ringed Plovers, thank you! We found various wild plants such as Yellow-horned Poppy, Scarlet Pimpernel, Viper's Bugloss and Tamarisk. What a lovely place for a dip into nature."

Jenny Bhambri-Lyte

"Lovely place for a walk at any time of the day. When your on the mounds you can see the sea and the docks the opposite side. Be mindful that the is a wildlife reserve and dogs must be kept on a lead. They have some areas sectioned off for the wildlife so its better to stick to the paths. Have seen some beautiful sunsets at this place and its always so peaceful and quiet."
