Visitors generally find Finlaystone Estate a beautiful and relaxing place with plenty to explore, especially for families. The gardens are praised for their color, and the animal sanctuary is a hit. However, some feel certain paths need maintenance and consider it overpriced compared to free alternatives.

"Visiting this estate is a really nice experience. It is a very. relaxing tranquil place
There are many peaceful spots where you can marvel at the sheer explosions of Colour in the gardens .The house is not open to the public as it is occupied by the current clan McMillan chief and his family. There is a lovely garden tearoom, a big pond full of birdlife and and an adjacent animal sanctuary with separate entry which is only £2 extra. Very reasonable in this greedy age. Here you will find Alpacas, Llamas, beautiful horses and ponies. You can feed pigs.Pet Guinea pigs.Kids will love it. There is ample parking close to the tearoom. Staff were all helpful and friendly. Its a great day out."
