Accessing Victoria Cave

Victoria Cave is a natural wonder, but access beyond the initial viewing area is restricted due to its fragile formations. Plan for a moderate uphill walk on a potentially muddy and slippery path. Consider bringing a torch for better visibility, especially if exploring nearby smaller caves.

Managing Expectations

While Victoria Cave is a significant geological site, it doesn't boast grand, easily accessible formations. Visitors seeking extensive exploration might find the barriers limiting. The real magic lies in the journey and the unique, albeit subtle, beauty of the cave system.

All it’s missing is an IKEA! 😅 Hear me out… There’s just something about Victoria ✨ I’ve been to a lot of different places in this world, but for me, Victoria just has that “Je ne sais quoi”. Maybe it’s the historical downtown. Maybe it’s the architecture. Maybe it’s the secret, narrow alleyways around every turn. Maybe it’s that when you look out into the harbour, you see seals, and orcas and s...

"Lovely cave to see, though you can't get far inside as it's got a barrier. It's a short uphill walk up to the cave from the footpath on a mud/stone path."

"We got the train to Settle then began a lovely long walk to the caves which were great and would definitely go again. All you need is a car or the train."

"What an amazing place. Me,my wife and our dogs were on a breakaway and went on a few walks and when we came across this walk up to the Victoria cave,it blew me and my wife Karen away. The views are spectacular, even with 4-5inches of snow, made it a little harder to climb to the top but the views and wild life alone on the way up,was amazing and the fly over from a tornado jet, just put the cherry on it. AMAZING place"
