How many of you didn't know we get seals in Langstone Harbour? This is from kayaking out there today.
Nice, these are Harbour or Common Seals. You often get them on the mud flats near Salterns Quey and the Portsmouth Watersports centre. Interestingly, you rarely see them on the other side of the harbour (although sometimes a youngster will go exploring in late summer).

Many visitors enjoy walking their dogs here. Keep them on a lead where necessary.
Holiday Traffic Alert π
Hayling Island road can get gridlocked during holidays. Plan travel accordingly.

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Langstone Harbour for its picturesque views, excellent walking paths like the Hayling Billy Trail, and its appeal to dog walkers and families. The harbour offers a peaceful escape with opportunities for birdwatching. However, the traffic on Hayling Island road during holidays can be a significant drawback, and the harbour itself can appear dull and muddy at low tide.
"Nice location that is easily accessible. Two nice pubs, great walks, nice views. Only downside is the traffic on the Hayling Island road in the holidays. Can be grid locked."
Russell Hawker
"Picturesque harbour between havant and hayling island. Nice atmosphere. Really good and beautiful walks along the old railway line or beyond the coast paths towards emsworth. Nice pubs nearby as well as the old windmill and mill pond. Plenty of sailing boats and picturesque views. At high tide you can also find places to swim. Real underated place."
Mark Mahoney
"People like it as the division between Hayling Island & the mainland of Havant & Emsworth on the South Coast Hampshire & it is where the rather historic & well loved Hayling Billy train line & bridge ran but exists no more & pathway trail that people still follow in its tracks for enjoyable walks along the length of the west side of the island but the harbour itself is as harbours can be, a bit dull & muddy depending on the tide"
