"A peaceful, quaint lock with several information boards and points of interest. There's no facilities such as toilets or food/drink available here as far as I could see. This is a great point to walk to from Lechlade-on-Thames along the Thames Path, taking approximately 45 minutes to the lock and back (start at Halfpenny Bridge)."

Tom Price

"Well kept lock in Thames the first of 45 on the river Thames. We enjoyed a stroll along the Thames foot path across the fields towards or away from Lechlade."

Derek

"The man in the lock house, I guess the lock keeper seems to have never in his life considered that not every person who goes through the lock is a world class expert and may still be learning. He is absolutely baffled and outraged if you donโ€™t know all the rules and the grumpiest grumps I have ever seen. I donโ€™t know who hurt him but he is crazy rude and unhelpful and talks to you like heโ€™s hated you for an eternity before and an eternity to come"
