Few churches can compare with the stunning setting of Coverham, lying low in the valley of the River Cover in the Dales.
This handsome stone church has a large churchyard - it was an early Christian site and nearby are the few remains of Coverham Abbey. The building is of thirteenth-century origin and has a calm, light interior. There have been fourteenth and seventeenth-century additions and the tower is from the sixteenth century. There was also much Victorian rebuilding and most interior fittings date from that period"
