What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally find Lift 109 to be a unique and worthwhile experience, offering spectacular 360-degree views of London from an unusual vantage point inside a historic chimney. While some feel the time limit at the top is a bit rushed and the price could be lower, the novelty and the impressive vistas make it a memorable attraction, especially when combined with exploring the revitalized Battersea Power Station.
"Lift 109 Review – A Disappointing Value for Money
We visited Lift 109 yesterday as a birthday treat gifted by a family member. While the overall experience takes about 45 minutes, only around 10 minutes are dedicated to learning about the history of the power station, and the actual time spent enjoying the view from the top of the chimney is roughly 7 minutes. The majority of the visit is spent waiting and queuing.
To be fair, the view itself is stunning and offers a fantastic panorama of London. However, at £23 per person, the experience does not justify the price. It feels quite overpriced for what is essentially a very brief view and limited engagement.
Additionally, I felt the staff could have been more proactive and enthusiastic. A more engaging and welcoming attitude would go a long way in improving the overall experience.
In summary: great view, but poor value and lacklustre service."
Mark Hembery
"Absolutely fantastic and costs less than the eye. We had about 10 – 15 mins at the top as is was early and very quiet. It was a bit of an overcast day but we were surprised about how much you could see. The whole experience was fantastic and after you visit the all the shops in the renovated power station to look round."
Andrew Germain
"We had a good time in the museum bit of lift 109. Our guide Mason was a great spark of comedy and directing the crowd.
Informative and interesting session before you walk up to the lift.
The lift did not last that long or time passed so quick and we had to get down. The view worth it. Quite a lot can be seen.
The merch was innovative and nostalgic af the same time. However the one photo taken was a bit expensive, I would not request it now. Otherwise I can only recommend if you like history steam and brick."
